Mike Sanabria

Michael was born in Onalaska, Wisconsin, then moved to Tampa, Florida at the beginning of High School. After a successful junior career, with awards including “First Team All-Conference” his junior and senior year, Michael accepted an academic scholarship to Florida State University. Here, he earned a degree in Social Sciences with a minor is Psychology.

            After college, Michael was hired to work for The First Tee Tampa Bay as a Lead Golf Instructor. He directed a Summer Camp program, hosted junior clinics, and taught junior golfers through the First Tee Middle School Golf Program. Michael would spend 3 weeks at a time at various Middle Schools in the county, introducing hundreds of juniors to the game of golf.

            In 2014, Michael joined the Leadbetter Team at World Headquarters in ChampionsGate, FL, and become a Certified Leadbetter Instructor in 2015. Once certified, Michael managed the rebuilding and evolution of the Instructor Certification Process for all global academies.

            In 2016, Michael assisted David Leadbetter with various students including many PGA, LPGA, and European Tour players. In the past year, Michael spent a month in China, which included: hosting a weeklong junior golf camp with players from across the country, assisting David Leadbetter with Teacher Training Seminars, and building the curriculum for an introductory golf program called Leadbetter Kids.

            Michael currently manages the Instructor Certification Program and oversees Leadbetter Kids Curriculum Development. While specializing in junior development, he is well versed in teaching players of all ages and playing ability and using the teaching technologies of Trackman and SAM Putt Lab. Michael values the opportunity to continue his education and development through the mentorship of David Leadbetter and his elite staff of golf instructors at World Headquarters and around the world.
