Philippe De Busschere

Philippe is originally from Brasschaat, Belgium where he grew up and picked up the game of golf. Philippe, aged 20, chose to enroll in the prestigious San Diego Golf Academy in Orlando. Throughout his education there he was the assistant teacher for PGA Master Professional, Alan J Flashner. After passing the required exams Philippe received degrees in advanced teaching, club repair and fitting, tournament operations and received playing credentials.

Throughout his education Philippe lowered his handicap to a +2,7. When he started working for LGA he became a trainee instructor at the Leadbetter golf academy in Austria where he moved between the 2 locations withing the country. He also held positions in LGA Spain and LGA Bradenton at IMG academies where he was involved in the Postgrad group bringing juniors to the next level. As LGA was expanding to Busan, Korea it did not take long for Philippe to head up the Busan LGA and develop a junior training center there. Throughout his time there he also taught Bae Sang Moon, Soyoung Jang, Bitna Heo.

After his time in Korea, Philippe moved to Munich, Germany to start up the new LGA. He worked together with Paul Dyer who is the Senior Director for Europe for LGA and he made the LGA Munich to become a recognized training center. He started up a junior program and also started to work together with Bernd Wiesberger, a player on the European tour. Therefore Philippe has been travelling with Bernd to many European tour events including the Ballentines Championship in Korea which Bernd Wiesberger had his maiden victory.

Philippe is now based in Jakarta where he became Senior Director for Asia for LGA and he heads up the new LGA at Cengkareng. He also is the coach of Bernd Wiesberger who is ranked top 100 on the official world rankings who he travels with on the European Tour.

  • Who would you most like to give a lesson? Anybody that enjoys golf and wants to get better.
  • What is your favorite training aid or drill? I tend to explain detailed and make the student understand completely and give him generic drills.
  • What is one rule change you would make to golf? Penalize slow play quicker
